                   A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE AWARD OF THE
                   BITUMINOUS PAVEMENT RESURFACING PROJECT, NO.
                   P-1-93, TO THE C. W. MATTHEWS CONTRACTING
                   COMPANY, INC. FOR THEIR LOW BID IN THE
                   AMOUNT OF ONE MILLION, TWENTY-TWO THOUSAND,
                   FIVE HUNDRED NINETY-FIVE AND 85/100 DOLLARS
                   ($1,022,595.85), WITHOUT PRIOR APPROVAL.
                  
                  
                                                    
                  
                  
       	    	 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
       CHATTANOOGA, TENNESSEE, that there be and is hereby authorized 
the
       award of the Bituminous Pavement Resurfacing Project, No. P-1-93, 

       to the C. W. Matthews Contracting Company, Inc. for their low bid 

       in the amount of $1,022,595.85, without prior approval.
